Vic: Fire still burning in state park
A bushfire burning out of control in Victoria's north west has destroyed more than27,000 hectares in the Wyperfeld National Park.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment says the blaze has been burningsince spot fires from a controlled burn-off at the nearby Big Desert National Park gotout of control on Monday.
Department spokesman JEREMI MOULE says 28 firefighters worked throughout the nightto contain the fire.
More than 50 firefighters, 25 trucks, four planes and two helicopters are continuingto fight the blaze.
Dry windy conditions hampered firefighters' efforts yesterday, but Mr MOULE says rain'sexpected in the area today.
Meanwhile, firefighters expect to contain the fire in Big Desert by this evening.
