Giant Interactive Group to Launch ZT Online 2 Alpha Test

SHANGHAI, Mar 30, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Shanghai-based Giant Interactive Group Inc. (NYSE: GA) today announces that ZT Online 2, its internally developed, martial arts, massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), will start an alpha test on April 8, 2011.

It took an R&D team of 400 people for three years to develop ZT Online 2. Giant Interactive Group has not kicked off large-scale promotion of the game, whose popularity is gained from the public praise of gamers. By far, ZT Online 2 has recorded peak concurrent players of more than 200,000.

Meanwhile, Giant Interactive Group will launch a new billing form of online games following time billing and extra billing, through which gamers will acquire their extras by completing tasks and trading with other gamers. The company will only charge them 5% commission fees.

Giant Interactive Group Board Chairman Shi Yuzhu reveals that ZT Online 2 has maintained high user stickiness since its technology test in October 2010 till now, indicating that the new billing form has received preliminary acknowledgment among gamers.
